A Day at Everland

On Chan Woong's one day off a month he decided to take Brandi and I to Everland -one of the most popular amusement parks in Korea. He brought his hilarious friend Won Luck along to keep Brandi company. We left Chuncheon around noon and started the two hour drive to Yongin, the city where Everland is. Traffice was bad some of the way, so we didn't make it there until 3:00p.m. We quickly got our tickets and started waiting in line for the rides. The line ups weren't too bad because it's still winter. We waited about 15- 20 minutes per ride and we went on about 7 different rides. The best was definately "the double rock spin." You sat in a seat and they starpped you in good because the ride takes you up in the air, hangs you upside down and then spun you three or four times. Brandi and I were reluctant to go, but we ended up liking it more than Chan Woong and Won Luck. Their faces were pretty white after the ride; Brandi and I couldn't stop laughing.
At 7:00p.m. there was a lights parade that we went to watch. About 10 different floats were decorated in beautiful lights and dancers dressed up in costumes covered in lights. It was quite impressive. After that we went into a haunted house and a 3D space ride. By 8:00p.m. we were tired, cold and hungry so we headed back to Chuncheon. We thought the perfect way to end the day was to go for some dakalbi (marinated chicken and cabbage), and after that we headed to Snoopy bar for some soju cocktails.

Dancing Korean Cowgirls
On this one ride, which was supposed to be a replica of riding a bronco, the workers dressed up as cowgirls. That in itself looked funny, but then the girls started doing this little sexy hand shaking dance while the ride was going on. This picture doesn't show how hilarious it really was, but Brandi took some video.

Dakalbi....mmmmmm...... It's Chuncheon's specialty. Brandi and I love the stuff!

The Snoopy Bar sign, yes Snoopy bar. Korea has plenty of cartoon character bars and restaruants. I've seens smurfs chicken, and Garfield bar just to name a couple. Obvioulsy there aren't any copyright laws here.
